Hematopoietic stem cells are the cells that supply all the cells and cell types of the blood. While they are only a small percentage of the cells in the bone marrow, they can proliferate and their descendants become red blood cells, lymphocytes platelets, monocytes, macrophages, neutrophils, eosinophils, basophils, and mast cells.
